Spiritual Direction as a Resource

We know that many of you already work with (and highly recommend) spiritual directors and/or clinical mental health practitioners. If you've been feeling like it's time to reach out for support and you're not sure where to start, here are a few resources shared by KO pastors. This list does not represent our endorsement of any practitioners, but it is a potential beginning point for you to seek out whatever care may best support you in your life and ministry at this time. If finances are a barrier for spiritual and mental health care, please reach out to the COM and we will help you find a way.

Nearly all therapists and spiritual directors are offering sessions by video or phone at this time, so it's easier than ever to connect with someone even outside of your residential location. Souljourners is an Atchison, KS-based training program for spiritual direction; they maintain a long list of available spiritual directors (attached). You can also reach out to program director Sister Mary Elizabeth Schweiger for assistance in finding a spiritual director (she is included on the document).
