An Announcement from Lorraine and the KO Conference Executive Committee
Dear Friends of the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference,
After prayerful reflection and careful discernment, I have made the decision to resign as Conference Minister of the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference of the United Church of Christ. In keeping with our practice, I have provided 90 days’ notice to the Executive Committee, with my resignation effective July 5, 2026.
This decision has not come quickly or lightly. It has emerged over time through prayer, honest reflection, and a deep desire to honor both my own well-being and the future of this Conference. What has become clear to me is that the alignment between my spirit and the work of this role is no longer where it needs to be for me to continue in a healthy and life-giving way.
Serving this Conference has been a meaningful chapter in my ministry. I am grateful for the trust you placed in me and for the many relationships formed across the Conference. Together, we have navigated seasons of challenge and change, strengthened important areas of Conference life, welcomed the wider church through General Synod 35, and created space to listen deeply to one another through Holy Conversations. I will carry these experiences, and the people who made them possible, with gratitude.
In the months ahead, I will continue to serve with care and commitment, supporting a thoughtful and steady transition. My hope is that this Conference will be well-positioned for the next chapter of its ministry.
Thank you for the ways we have shared in ministry together. I ask God’s blessing upon this Conference and upon all who continue the work of love, justice, and hope in the days ahead.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Dr. Lorraine Ceniceros
Conference Minister
Kansas-Oklahoma Conference
United Church of Christ
The Executive Board has accepted the resignation of the Rev. Dr. Lorraine Ceniceros as Conference Minister. We have reflected on her time with us and are grateful for her leadership and service she has done for our conference. We wish her the absolute best life has to offer as she takes the next step in her journey. As we move forward, the Board is communicating with the National Ministries to begin the search process. Jackie has been in conversation with the Rev. Dr. Diane Weible, the Conference Minister Search Coordinator. We will be employing an Interim Conference Minister to help maintain stability through this transition period. Keep us in your hearts and prayers as we do the work of selecting members of the search committee to guide this transition. I would encourage you to reach out if you have questions or concerns.
Jackie Kropp
President, KO Conference Board of Directors
