Grants Available: Supporting Resilient & Robust Churches & Communities
In the ongoing series of Holy Conversations over the last three years, lay and clergy members across the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference of the UCC have expressed a growing need for resources to strengthen and build the resilience of our local churches and the communities in which they minister. Accordingly, the KO Board of Directors has put together a new grant program: Supporting Resilient & Robust Churches & Communities.
Grants are available to congregations for up to $5,000 per calendar year to support projects with the potential to enrich, enhance, and expand local church efforts. Examples of potential projects include, but are not limited to:
Property and equipment maintenance and improvements that ensure the safety and comfort of members and visitors, and/or expand building usage to church and community services
Technology expansion or enhancement
Program planning and expansion
Clergy and lay member training and development
Children and youth ministry development and training
Community outreach addressing food insecurity, shelter, and housing affordability, and youth and adult mental health
Grant applications can be submitted at any time and will be reviewed upon receipt by a committee appointed by the Board of Directors that includes the Conference Minister, the Associate Conference Minister, the Conference President or appointee, and the Conference Treasurer. Grant applicants will receive a response to their submitted application within thirty days.
The grant application and instructions, along with the budget form, can be found on the KO website - just click here to get started.
